Adenovirus Virions. AdV are large naked viruses with long fibres projecting from each vertex of their icosahedral capsids. Genome is double stranded DNA (dsDNA). Cause respiratory diseases. Adenoviruses have long been used as vectors to transport material into cells (e.g. the Astra Zeneca COVID vaccine uses adenoviruses).
